LES MENGES, 60, DIES AT STORM LAKE; SERVICES TODAY

Funeral services were held at Arlington, Iowa, today for L.F. (Les) Menges, 60, who passed away at Storm Lake Monday morning.

Burial was at the Taylorville cemetery at Arlington. The Fitzpatick-Mahaney funeral home at Storm Lake was in charge of the services.

A former Grinnellian, Menges was emloyed at the Richardson Lumber & Supply company here for approximately eight years. He left Grinnell in 1954 for Freeport, Illinois, where he served as general manager of the Fullerton Lumber yard there.

The following year, Menges was named as an area supervisor for the Fullerton Company, working out of Storm Lake. He supervised 17 company yards.

Menges is survived by his wife; two sons, Jimmie of Newton, and Gary, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and a grandson, James Lee Menges.

While in Grinnell, Menges was active in civic and community affairs. He was a past president of the Rotary Club here and a member of the Elks Lodge. He was also active in the state lumbermen's association.
