BARBARA M. COLE

Barbara M. Cole, 57, of 3 Washington Pl., Grinnell, died of cancer Tuesday, July 21, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducetd at 2 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Bowman, pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Organist will be Susan Todd.

Cremation will follow the service. Memorials in Mrs. Cole's name may be made to Hospice Grinnell and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home.

The daughter of Edward and Mable Sales DeMott, she was born May 15, 1935, in Elizabeth, N.J. She was a graduate of Toms River (N.J.) High School.

She was married to David Cole Sept. 15, 1962, in Sea Side Park, N.J. The couple moved to Tama, and in 1971 they moved to Grinnell. While living here Mrs. Cole worked for DeLong Sportswear and Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance. She was a claims representative for Grinnell Mutual.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine.

Surviving are her husband, David; one daughter, Wendy Cook of Des Moines; two grandsons; one brother, Ted DeMott of Beachwood, N.J.; and a sister, Betty J. Matjeskowski of Seaside Heights, N.J.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
