NONA POTTS RITES CONDUCTED

Nona L. Potts, 91, of Grinnell died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 30, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert C. Smith, pastor of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The daughter of Edward and Lucy Athey Copeland, she was born on June 8, 1890, at Lenox. She was a graduate of Lenox High School.

On April 7, 1908, she was married to William M. Potts at Lenox. The couple lived in Lenox until moving to Stronghurst, Ill., in 1926. They moved to Grinnell in 1928.

Mrs. Potts was employed in the housekeeping department of Grinnell College and with the Grinnell Shoe Company. In 1959, the family moved to Montezuma, returning to Grinnell in 1969. Mrs. Potts has been a resident of Friendship Manor since 1976.

She is survived by a son, Willis Potts of Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Reldon H. (Dick) Potts; a daughter, Garlan Welsh; three brothers, Charles, Lou and Edward Copeland; and two sisters, Mamie M. Hill and Marie Tully.
