ELIZABETH WENTZEL

Elizabeth "Lizzie" Wentzel, 96, of No. 4 Fifteenth Ave. Ct. died Tuesday, April 24, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Schlobohm, pastor of the Malcom-Sheridan Parish, officiating. Organist will be Margaret Wheeler. Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom.

The daughter of John and Augusta Monti Wentzel, she was born Aug. 25, 1893, in Jewell, Iowa. The family moved to Malcom where she attended school. She later worked as a clerk for the Malcom Drug Store. Miss Wentzel moved to Grinnell in 1981.

She was a member of Poweshiek Rebekah Lodge No. 67 of Malcom for 76 years.

Surviving is a brother, Ralph of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ida Owens and Viola Hicks.
