JOHN S. PALMER, 71, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES

Word has been received in Grinnell of the death of John S. Palmer, former Grinnell resident, who died April 30 at the age of 71.

Mr. Palmer, who was a longtime resident of Newburg and Grinnell, was living in Long Beach, Calif., at the time of his death. He had lived there since 1950.

While in Grinnell, Mr. Palmer had worked for John Deere Co. and had worked as a general contractor.

Funeral services were conducted May 2 with burial at Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella, and two sons, William and Warren and their families.
