DEATH OCCURS SUDDENLY FROM ABSCESS ON LUNG

Lived In Grinnell Since 1903--Is Survived by Wife and Two Small Sons.
---------------------

The death of William Knapp June occurred suddenly at his home, 1517 West street, in this city, Tuesday morning at 10 A.M.

Mr. June had been in poor health for about a year, suffering from abscess in one of his lungs. Yet he kept at work most of the time. His last work was at the Grinnell fair last August. Right after the fair closed he became much worse, but was able to be about the lawn and yard nearly every day. He was up the day before his death. That evening he was stricken down, caused by the abscess in his lung bursting. He was very sick after that until he passed away.

Mr. June was born in Brooklyn, New York, April 14, 1857. He remained in his native city for the most part until 1901 when he came to Chicago. He was married Feb.21, 1903, at Hammond, Indiana, to Miss Emma May Smith. In August, 1906, Mr. and Mrs. June came to Grinnell to live, and have since made this their home. He followed the business of expert accountant.

Three children were born to them; two of whom, Charles K. and Frank M., survive their father, as does his wife. Both boys are at home. One son, William L., died Feb 7, 1912, at the age of five years.

Mr. June was a communicant of the Episcopal church, retaining his membership at Brooklyn, as there is no church of his denomination here.

The Herald is glad to bear testimony to the estimable character and sterling worth of Mr. June. Thro' an acquaintance with him lasting over his entire residence here he has impressed us as a modest, unassuming man yet efficient, accurate and reliable. We have had some business relations with him and can testify to their value and correctness.

The funeral occurred this morning at 10:30 at the home, conducted by Rev. E.M. Vittum.

The funeral was held this morning at 10:30 o'clock from the home, services being conducted by Dr. E.M. Vittum, pastor of the Congregational church.
