MRS. L.T. JACKSON
---------------------------
Young Woman Passes Away at Her Home at 818 Summer Street

Mrs. L.T. Jackson died at her late home at 818 Summer street, Thursday morning, June 5, at six o'clock, after a long struggle against great odds. Cancer was the cause of her death. An operation a year ago arrested the disease but failed to save her life. Her mother died about 15 months ago from the same cause.

Her husband, L.T. Jackson, one daughter, Geraldine, ten years old, and one step-son, Raymond, now in the state of Washington, survive her. Mrs. Jackson was born October 16, 1877.

Mr. Jackson is a conductor on the M & St.L. and the family have made their home in Grinnell for four years or more. Mrs. Jackson has made many friends here. She was a member of the Gleaners Sunday school class of the Congregational church, and also a member of the Eastern Star.

Before her marriage to Mr. Jackson her name was Miss Effie McDole. She was the eldest daughter in her family and her mother being in frail health while the brothers and sisters were growing up, she really stood in the mother's stead. She was married to Mr. Jackson December 25, 1905. She was a loyal and devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother; a sincere, a kind and good woman. Her untimely death is deplored but none would wish her back to suffer longer.

Five sisters and two brothers survive Mrs. Jackson. They are Mrs. Inez Shepard of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Myrtle Frazier of Colo, Iowa, Mrs. Sue Prey of Valley Junction, Iowa, Mrs. Helen Olson of Story City, Iowa, and Mrs. Hazel Henderson of Indianapolis, Ind., Buxton McDole of Frazier, Idaho, and Boyce McDole of Wichita, Kan. The sisters and their husbands will all attend the funeral service. The five brothers-in-law and a cousin will act as pall bearers.

Funeral services will be held from the home Saturday morning at 8:30 conducted by Rev. E.W. Cross of the Congregational church, with the local Chapter of Eastern Star in charge. The relatives will then accompany the remains to Eddyville where burial will take place, the Rev. Mr. Kilburn in charge.
