WILLIAM KIESEY
William A. Kiesey, 77, of 13386 Highway 6, Grinnell, died of a blood disorder Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Everett K. Burham of Washington officiating. Organist will be Alice Renaud, and casket bearers will be Keith Grovenburg, Larry Grovenburg, Richard May, Steven Mintle, Terry Mintle and John Schmidt.
Graveside services will be conducted by members of the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit, with burial in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
He was the son of William Allen and Addie Carson Kiesey and was born Dec. 4, 1920, at Washington, Iowa. He spent most of his childhood in Washington and was a 1939 graduate of Washington High School.
He served witht the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He moved to Grinnell after the war.
He was married to Wanda Adkins June 8, 1947, and the couple lived in Grinnell. Mr. Kiesey was a market manager for Thriftway and Safeway food stores, retiring in 1981.
He is survived by his wife. His parents preceded him in death.
