MARTHA J. GEADELMANN
Martha J. Geadelmann, 56, of Adel, formerly of Grinnell, died of cancer Monday, June 14, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Adel United Methodist Church, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery.
She was born in Stanwood, lived in Grinnell and Davenport, and for the past 14 years had been a resident of Adel. She was a graduate of Iowa State University and was employed by the Dallas County Extension Service prior to becoming a homemaker.
She was president of the White Pole Questers, vice president of the Adel Federated Women's Club, past treasurer and committee member of Adel United Methodist Church, a member of P.E.O. in Grinnell and Davenport, and past president of P.E.O. in Adel. In Davenport she was a member of the junior board of the Visiting Nurses Association She was also past president and board member of Homecare Services, Inc., of Dallas County.
Surviving are her husband, Wayne; one daughter, Anne Austin of Lander, Wyo.; twin sons, Steve and Scott, both of Des Moines; and her mother, Wilma Meyer of Clarence.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Adel Library, Adel United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or the National Outdoor Leadership School.
