DORIS NORMAN

Doris Norman, 81, of the Jasper County Care Facility died of pneumonia Friday, April 18, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Private graveside services were conducted, with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell. The Wallace-Pence Funeral Home of Newton was in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Jorgen C. and Emma Andrea Nicholiason Bruvold, she was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Fargo, N.D. She had worked as a live-in housekeeper in California.

Shew as married to Alfred W. Norman June 2, 1935, in Iowa.

Mrs. Norman was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Dennis of Santa Maria, Calif.; one daughter, Sandra Bayles of Newton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Ruth Engstrom of Granite Falls, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Paul and Joseph Bruvold; and three sisters, Naomi, Lois and Judy.
