HOLD RITES FOR MRS. WOLCOTT

Jessie Wolcott, a former resident of Grinnell died Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Brooks-Howell, a retirement home for missionaries and deaconesses in Ashville, N.C.

Memorial services were held Friday morning at the Brooks-Howell. The Rev. Mrs. Marshall officiated.

She was born in Wheatland, Iowa, the daughter of a Methodist minister. She travelled with her family through northwest Iowa for much of her childhood. She was also with the Methodist mission league.

Some 40 years of her life were spent in the Orient educating as a missionary. She had spent several years in Grinnell after leaving the East, and, during that time, was active in the Methodist church here, especially in calling on the homebound and elderly.

She had spent the last 11 years of her life at Brooks-Howell.
