MRS. DITZLER DIES MONDAY

Bernice M. Ditzler, 93, of 1609 Ninth Ave., Grinnell, died at her home Monday, July 18.

Following cremation, burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom. A memorial service may be conducted at a later date. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The daughter of Frederick and Nancy Crombie Ayers, she was born Jan. 28, 1895, at Leaf River, Ill. She attended Leaf River public schools, Francis Shimer College at Mt. Carroll, Ill., and Lake Forest College, where she received her B.A. degree in 1916.

Following her education she served as principal of Malcom High School.

She was married to Harry Eisele Sept. 12, 1918, in Rockford, Ill. The couple farmed in Poweshiek County. Mr. Eisele died in 1953, and she moved to Grinnell in 1956.

She was married to Arthur Ditzler in 1963 at Mitchell, S.D. The couple continued to live in Grinnell.

She is survived by two sons, Fred Eisele of Fargo, N.D., and Frank Eisele of Marietta, Ga.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Zelda Schelling of Boston, Mass. She was preceded in death by both husbands and her parents.
