RUTH ABBOTT SERVICES HELD

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Lucille Abbott, 49, of Toledo, who died Thursday, March 16, at University Hospitals in Iowa City following an extended illness, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home in Tama.

The daughter of Delmar Roy and Florence Cecelia Cogley Baustian, she was born March 12, 1922, in Poweshiek County. She was raised on a farm in the Sheridan community south of Tama and attended rural schools there. She was married in 1942 to Alfred Steuhm of rural Tama. Her second marriage was to William Abbott Jr. Jan. 7, 1966. The couple lived in Tama and Toldedo since their marriage.

Mrs. Abbott was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Tama and the Tama-Toldedo VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband William; four sons, Delmar, Dale and Donald Steuhm, all at home, and Carl Joseph Steuhm of Toledo; one granddaughter; her mother, Mrs. Florence Lucas of Grinnell; and four sisters, Doris Baustian of Lakewood, Colo., Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Johns of Duneden, Fla., Mrs. Robert (Helen) Fontinel of rural Tama, and Mrs. Richard (Shirley) O'Hara, also of Tama.

She was preceded in death by her father.

The Rev. Carroll Usher, pastor of the Tama United Methodist Church, officiated at the services held at the Harrison Funeral Home in Tama. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
