FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. STONE

Funeral services for Mrs. J.A. Stone of Grinnell, were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the W.N. Stone home in this city. The Rev. J. Stanley Decker, pastor of the M.E. church, had charge of the services. Burial was made in the local cemetery.

Mrs. Stone died Tuesday of last week at the University hospital in Iowa City, after an illness of several weeks' duration. She was a lovely lady with a host of friends in Grinnell and Montezuma who will mourn her death.

The pall bearers were Mayo Harris, Frank Bartling, Frank Edge and A.L. Burgett of Grinnell, and J.H. Platt and C.G. Adams of Montezuma.

Catherine Rosanna Carr was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Carr, and was born at Forest Home, Iowa, September 23, 1858. On April 2, 1878, she was united in marriage at Montezuma with J.A. Stone who with three daughters, survives to mourn the passing of a kind and loving wife and mother. The daughters are Miss Helen Stone and Mrs. J.E. Norton of Grinnell and Mrs. Rudolph Klindt of Montezuma. Surviving also are a granddaughter, Virginia Norton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Norton; three brothers and one sister, all living in California.

For a number of years Mr. and Mrs. Stone made their home in Montezuma, later moving to Grinnell, which has since been their home.

She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in Grinnell.

Mrs. Stone passed away at the hospital in Iowa City May 16, 1933, after a somewhat extended illness, at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 23 days.
