VIVIAN MARY HIMSCHOOT, 86

Vivian Mary Himschoot, 86, of Fort Myers, Fla. went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. She was born in Hartwick, on Nov. 17, 1925 to Ferdinand and Gertrude Roth. The family moved from Brooklyn to Fort Myers in 1959.

Vivian attended school in Hartwick and was proud that she was awarded first place for being the most humorous in a declamatory contest during her high school years. Throughout her life, she kept that trait and continued to make her family and friends laugh. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a mebmer of St. Columbkille Catholic Church.

Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Himschoot, the love of her life for 54 years. Also preceding her in death is her son, Richard; brothers, Edward and Wallace Roth and sister, Elmira Bevins of Iowa. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Giles (James) and Kristine Reffit and two sons, Michael and Kevin. Vivian is also survived by eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sisters, Kay Ostrom, Maggie Roberts (Cecil), Shirley Blomme and brother, Dee Roth (Donna), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Fort Myers on Saturday, May 5, with Father Joe Clifford officiating with entombment at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

A reception was held at Laurel Oaks Community Center in Fort Myers.
