CHARLES M. VAN DOREN

Charles M. Van Doren, 79, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Grinnell, died July 23, following a long illness.

Burial was in Lakeland Memorial Gardens, with Masonic graveside services being conducted.

He was born Feb. 17, 1911, in Saskatoon, Sask., Canada, the son of Herbert E. and Lora A. Van Doren. The family moved to Cherokee, Iowa, where he completed schooling. He moved to Grinnell in 1940 and worked for G.S. Laros and Ted Staffanou. He was married to Ruth Hedge Mowitt May 10, 1949.

Mr. Van Doren was a past master of the Masonic Lodge here.

He is survived by his wife.
