FRANK F. LEE

Frank F. Lee, an old and respected settler of Poweshiek county, was born in Rutland, Vt., November 6, 1823, and died at his home five miles south of Grinnell, Saturday morning, June 26, 1915, aged 92 years, 7 months and 20 days. He came to the close of his long and useful life in full possession of his faculties, comforted in the thought that his life had not been lived in vain. In 1836 his father moved with his family to Canada, where the boy grew to manhood, finishing his education in the public schools of that country. On March 2, 1845, he was united in marriage to Miss Clara Malory, who departed this life in 1853. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Sarah Austin of Knapp, Wis., and Lucy and William F., deceased.

In 1855 Mr. Lee was united in marriage to Miss Delila Adams, who with their two sons, Herman F. and Malcom, Mrs. Austin, and four grandchildren, remain to cherish the memory of husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Lee has lived in this county since 1881, and has been a factor in the development of this part of the state. Respected by all who knew him, surrounded by friends and loved ones, his declining years were spent in peace and quietness.

The funeral services were held in the home on June 28, at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. J.M. Brown conducted the services. The body was brought to Grinnell for burial in Hazelwood cemetery.
