ROBERT R. REED

Robert R. Reed, 65, of Rte. 1, Kellogg, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Iowa Veterans Medical Center in Knoxville.

No services are planned. The body was cremated and the ashes scattered. The Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The son of Frank and Gladys Forrester Reed, he was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Spring Valley, Minn. The family moved to Grinnell where he attended school.

During World War II he served with the U.S. Navy. Following the war he lived in Minneapolis, Minn., later moving to Grinnell. Mr. Reed worked as a self-employed trucker. He moved to Kellogg in 1986.

Surviving are his wife, Edna Reed of Grinnell; six daughters, Barbara Arthur of Oakland Acres, Nancy Zylstra of Sully, Bev Pierce of Kellogg, Sue Cowan of Brooklyn, Vicki Reed-Spencer of Marshalltown and Rhonda Reed of Denver, Colo.; sixteen grandchildren; and two brothers, Raymond of Kellogg and Dean of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Cheryl Kriegel; four sisters, Frances Reed, Elnora Murk, Mary Reavis and Pauline Reed; and two brothers, Lloyd and Harold.
