RALPH SHERMAN FUENRAL RITES

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the James funeral home for Ralph Sherman, 86, who died last Wednesday at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Clarence Vogt of Grinnell.

The Rev. Leland Mann will officiate. Burial will be in Chester cemetery.

He was born Oct. 10, 1870 in Chester township. He was state representative from Poweshiek county from 1911 to 1915. He retired from farming in 1932. He was a charter member of the Grinnell Elks lodge and a member of the Fortnightly club.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Clarence Vogt of Grinnell, Mrs. Joe L. Gettys of Oskaloosa, Mrs. George Dare of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Curtis Nelson of Alexandria, Minn., and Mrs. Wendell Hise of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
