FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. GEO. P. GRINNELL TODAY

Funeral services were held from the Snyder Brothers Chapel this afternoon for Mrs. George P. Grinnell (Cledora Hitchcock Grinnell), for many years a lady prominent in the Grinnell club circles, who passed away Wednesday evening in the Soldiers Home in Marshalltown, where she had been in residence for the past two years. The services were conducted by Rev. E.M. Vittum. Mrs. Margery Bouman sang.

Mrs. Grinnell was a charter member of the Priscilla Club and was a leader in D.A.R. activities, having served as regent of the Grinnell Chapter.

Her interests were far reaching and she is mourned by many friends in this community. A brother in Colorado survives her.

Mrs. Grinnell had been a resident of the home since Sept. 5, 1931. Her husband, who preceded her in death, served during the Civil War in Company H of the 45th Iowa Infantry. Mr. Grinnell was a cousin of J.B. Grinnell, founder of this community.

Surviving are a brother, F.C. Hitchcock of Waldon, Colo., two nephews, E.W. Hitchcock of Waldon, and J.B. Grinnell of Grinnell, and two nieces Mrs. J.W. Crook of Montour and Mrs. C.H. Reed of Ft. Collins, Colo. Also, a nephew, Elbert Bartlow of Tama and nieces Mrs. Ett Dunham of Grinnell and Mrs. James Roach of Tama.
