BILLY GEURTS RITES TUESDAY

Billy Lee Geurts, 28, of 831-1/2 Broad St., died Saturday evening at University Hospitals in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 12, 1943, at Newton, and attended the Sully schools, graduating with the class of 1962 at Lynnville-Sully High School. He had been associated with his father in the Geurts Masonry and Construction firm and had made his home in Grinnell since 1964.

Mr. Geurts was married to Audrey White Aug. 22, 1970, in Herrick Chapel at Grinnell College.

He is survived by his wife Audrey; his father Lester; his mother Mrs. Dorotha Geurts; three brothers, Jerry of Chicago and Michael and Craig of Grinnell; his sister, Mrs. Warren (Judy) Tickle of Wolfesboro, N.H.; his grandmother, Mrs. Louise Geurts of Sully; and his grandfather, Elvin Vanness of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Floris M. Geurts, and his grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Vanness.

Services for Mr. Geurts will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Dennis W. Haas, chaplain of Grinnell College, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Leonard Pearce.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
