MRS. R.C. BIRCHARD

Mrs. R.C. Birchard, one of Kellogg's well known women and also known and loved by Grinnell relatives and friends, died Friday, April 29 in Rochester, where a few days before she had undergone an operation for goitre. She was stricken with pneumonia just after she had been removed from the hospital to a sanitarium for convalenscence. The funeral was held from her home in Kellogg Sunday, May 1. Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Coutts, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lincoln and Mrs. Elsie Wright of Grinnell attended the services. Mrs. Birchard was Minnie Wasson and was born August 17, 1864, in Poweshiek county. She came to Kellogg with her parents in 1896 and was married there to Mr. Birchard Oct. 28, 1897. She is survived by her husband and son, one brother, Chas. Wasson, and one sister, Mrs. W.P. Coutts of Kellogg.
