MRS. MARTZ DIES HERE WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Rosa Belle Martz, 85, of 610 Main Street, passed away suddenly at her home Wednesday morning.

Funeral services for Mrs. Martz will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Methodist church with the Dr. G.S. Bruland, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetery. Those desiring may contribute to the Methodist church memorial fund.

Mrs. Martz was born October 18, 1875, in Fayette County, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Jacob and Susan Campbell Sanders. She received her education in Poweshiek county.

On September 4, 1895, she was united in marriage with Willis Martz at her famiy home, eight miles south of Grinnell, by the Rev. Parker. To this union were born six children, two of whom preceded her in death--Glenn in infancy and Mrs. William (Suzie) Cavitt.

Among the survivors are Mrs. Avis (Ada) Elliott of Akron, Colorado; Charles R. Martz of Longmont, Colorado; Homer S. Martz of Evergreen Park, Illinois; Mrs. Ben (Ruth) Cobbs of Newton; and Miss Roberta Mason of Grinnell. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Martz was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willis in April of 1941; two children; and two brothers, Frank and Charles Sanders.

Mrs. Martz had lived in the Grinnell area for over 50 years, moving here from Mount Vernon, Iowa. She was a member of the Methodist church, a charter member of the W.S.C.S. of which she was a life member and taught Sunday school for many years.
