ED CLYNCH PASSES AWAY

Former Grinnell Man Dies at His Home in Dowagiac, Mich., Recently
---------------------

Many friends were saddened when word was received Wednesday of the death of Ed Clynch, formerly of this city, who died suddenly at his home in Dowagiac, Mich. Mr. Clynch, according to reports that reached here, was in his usual health when he retired Tuesday night but was found dead in the morning.

Mr. Clynch was a son of Pat Clynch of this city and had spent much of his life here. He married Mae Harpster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Harpster, prominent Grinnell citizens and a sister of Mrs. Raymond Norris and Mrs. Clarence Decatur. Raymond Norris and Mrs. Decatur left by auto for Dowagiac Wednesday.

Mr. Clynch is survived by his wife and four sons, James, Edward Jr., Robert and Dan; also by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Clynch, a sister, Mrs. Hugh Brown and a brother, James Clynch at home.

Mr. Clynch was in the army during the World War and served overseas with the headquarters of the Eighty-eighth division, which went overseas from Camp Dodge. He had held positions on the road for various well-known firms and traveled for several years for the One Minute company of Newton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of Mrs. J.W. Harpster, 1219 West street, conducted by Rev. W.J. Fowler. The Masons and the American Legion will be in charge of the services at the grave in Hazelwood.
