SERVICES TODAY FOR MISS CHASE

Miss Josephine Chase, 69, of 1409 Hobart St. passed away at the Grinnell General Hospital on Thursday evening following an extended illness. The daughter of George and Estella Bedwell Chase, Miss Chase was born on April 25, 1900, near Grinnell. She received her education in the rural schools of this community at Grant number 5, and was employed for 20 years at the Maytag Company at Newton, retiring seven years ago.

Miss Chase attended the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sister Mrs. Irene Niester of Grinnell and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Fred and Raymond, and a sister, Myrtle Anderson.

Funeral services for Miss Chase will be Monday, at 2 p.m., at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home. The Rev. J. Eugene Young, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Gary Morton, Richard Morton, Wayne Chase, Steve Niester, Dave McCurry and Darryl Hull.

Honorary casket bearers are Doug Niester, David Neal, Keith Neal, Freddie Anderson, Brian Morton and Gene McCurry.
