ARTHUR S. ALLEN FUNERAL SATURDAY

Arthur S. Allen, 87, a 2 1/2-year resident of Friendship Manor here, died early Thursday morning at the Manor.

The son of John and Aletha Allen, he was born Nov. 3, 1881. Mr. Allen was a former employee of the Maytag Co. in Newton.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funenal Home in Newton, with burial at Newton Union Cemetery. The Rev. Peter Schuler of the Lynnville Friends Church will officiate.

Mr. Allen is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Stewart (Frances) Buchenau of Rte. 4, Grinnell, and his grandson, Steven Buchenau. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lula, whom he married in 1910.
