ELLEN KRIEGEL RITES TODAY

Mrs. Ellen Kriegel, 58, of Tama died Tuesday morning at Grinnell General Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart condition.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kriegel will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Mason-Hand Funeral Home in Tama, with the Rev. Harland T. Gant, pastor of the Tama United Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be at the Sheridan Cemetery, rural Malcom.

The daughter of Grover and Rosa Snook Loftin, she was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Poweshiek County. She attended rural schools near Grinnell and was graduated from Grinnell High School in 1936.

On Aug. 12, 1939, she was married to George H. Kriegel of rural Brooklyn. The couple farmed in Tama and Poweshiek counties.

Mr. Kriegel died in 1965. Also preceding her in death were her mother and a brother, Walter.

Survivors include two sons, Carroll of Cedar Rapids and Cleon of Tama; three grandchildren; her father, Grover Loftin of Grinnell; and two brothers, LaVerne and Grover Jr., both of Grinnell.
