The Grinnell (IA) Herald; Jan. 27, 1891

--The funeral of Mrs. Sarah Mack Little occurred Sunday afternoon. A large company of friends were present to assist in the last sad rites and to lend sympathy to sorrowing relatives. The services were conducted by Rev. H.M. Tenney and Dr. Magoun. The words spoken were a fitting testimony to the lovely character of the departed one. Loved by all who knew her her death is indeed a loss to the community. The Church Greeting speaks so well of her life and character that we clip: Sarah Mack Little. Born in Lenox, Mass., Sept. 1, 1823. Died in Grinnell, Jan. 23, 1891. The daughter of Josiah and Maria Ward Mack, and the oldest of nine children, she lived and ministered in the New England home until 1867, when with her widowed mother and brother Henry she removed to Grinnell. Here on June 2, 1870, she was united in marriage with Warren Little, her intimate friend from childhood.

For more than fifty years she has been a consistant follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, and for more than twenty a member of our church. She dearly loved the worship of God's house and was never missing from the Sabbath day or mid-week services except in sickness or absence from home. Her quiet life was one of rare faithfulness in little things. Her home was her kingdom and therein she ministered to husband and friends with unselfish and unchanging devotion. Brave and patient in all suffering, hopeful and charitable under all conditions, counting it her joy to serve rather than be served, she has witnessed a "good confession" before all. "My trust has been in my Savior for a long time; it's all right beyond," was the parting expression of her faith.

To the husband, the sister and the three brothers who survive her, we extend our hearty sympathy in their sorrow, while we also rejoice with them in the confidence which enables them to say, "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord--that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."
