--Thomas A. Mackie was born Feb. 14, 1864, and departed this life, Oct. 21, 1900, aged 36 years, 8 months and 7 days. He and his mother united with the Christian church at Forest Home and were both baptized together about nineteen years ago. He was a man honored and respected by all and knew no enemies. He was a great sufferer for a number of years, but waited patiently till the end came, and his spirit took its flight and returned to God who gave it. Father, mother and two sisters remain to mourn the loss of an affectionate son and brother. He told his mother Saturday evening he could not live until morning and requested her to meet him in Heaven. Services were held at home conducted by Rev. Mr. Burdine at one o'clock, Tuesday. The body was interred at Montezuma.
