The Grinnell (IA) Herald; Feb. 10, 1893

--Margaret Elizabeth Miller was born in Park Co., Indiana, April 10, 1847. When she was six years of age her parents moved to Iowa, finally settling at Albia in 1867. In 1877 she was married to Dr. Almond Ticknor of Albia, who died in 1881. Oct. 18, 1887, she became the wife of Wm. Beaton and for five years has made her home here in Grinnell. When she came to Grinnell she brought a letter from the M.E. church at Albia to the Cong. church of Grinnell. She made many friends during her few years residence in Grinnell who mourn, with her relatives, her departure from this world. She was a faithful wife and consistent christian to the end, and endured her last sickness and suffering with a child-like patience, and abiding trust in her Savior that all would be right. She died Feb. 6, in the blessed hope of an immortal life with her Lord and Savior. A short funeral service was held at the house Tuesday conducted by her pastor, Rev. E.M. Vittum. Accompanied by sorrowing relatives, the body was taken to Albia Tuesday night, where, among the scenes of former years, it was laid away to its final rest yesterday. Her sorrowing husband has the sympathy, in his sad bereavement, of a multitude of friends in the community. Among those present from abroad Tuesday were her mother, Mrs. Miller of Albia, her sisters, Mrs. Jane Main of Moravia, Mrs. Ann Noble and Mrs. Laura Duncan of Albia, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Almond of Denver and Miss Belle Beaton of Harlan. She leaves also a brother, Mr. Chas. Miller, cashier of the Wells Fargo Express Co. at Chicago.
