BANK FOUNDER'S WIFE, ETHEL BACH, DIES

Mrs. J.E. (Ethel) Bach died Friday morning, Dec. 24 at the Villa de Silva Nursing Home in Moberly, Mo. after a long illness. She was the wife of J.E. Bach, who founded the Grinnell State Bank.

Funeral services for Mrs. J.E. Bach were conducted by the Rev. Rudy Beard, pastor of the Coates Street Presbyterian Church, at Million and Greer Chapel at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum.

She was born in Oxford, Ia., in 1884, and was the daughter of George W. and Lena Rapp Sies. Mrs. Bach was married to J.E. Bach in April of 1913. The couple moved to Grinnell from Victor when J.E. Bach founded the bank in 1925, and left when the bank was sold to C.A. Frasier. J.E. Bach also founded the City Bank and Trust Co. in Moberly.

Survivors include her husband; one son, George Leland Bach of Stanford, Calif.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
