MRS. LEOTA BELZER KILLED IN AUTO CRASH NEAR ALBIA

A Malcom school teacher was one of three persons killed Christmas day in a two-car crash on highway 137 about two miles north of Albia.

She was Mrs. Leota Belzer, 59, of Albia, who was an elementary teacher in the Brooklyn-Guernsey-Malcom school district at Malcom.

Mrs. Belzer's car apparently skidded on an icy patch on the pavement and veered out of control into the path of another auto occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Everett Curl of Beacon. Both Mr. and Mrs. Curl were also killed.

Mrs. Belzer died at an Albia hospital several hours after the crash.
