Mrs. J. Clark Antisdel

Blanche Pearl Meek Antisdel, daughter of William A. and Frances Gow Meek, was born Feb. 11, 1882, at Fairfield, Iowa. When she was two years of age the family moved to a farm south of Milford where she grew to womanhood.

She attended the public schools of her community, attended normal school at Spirit Lake, and taught in Dickinson county for some time.

On June 2, 1903, Blanche Pear Meek was united in marriage to J. Clark Antisdel, and they established their home in Milford township on a farm where they lived for 51 years. Two daughters were born to the home. Mr. and Mrs. Antisdel celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1953 at Milford.

Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Antisdel united with the Baptist church of Milford. In 1954 they built a lovely home in Grinnell, retired from the farm and enjoyed their new home and church.

She is survived by her companion of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Leona) Harris, Grinnell, and Mrs. N. W. (Lola) Stelpflug, LeMars; two granddaughters, Joy Ann and Carol Faye Harris, Grinnell; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Fliss, Jessup. and Mrs. Chris Nielson, Marshalltown; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Mrs. Antisdel was next to the youngest of eight children. Her parents, five brothers and sisters have preceded her in death.

She died March 1, 1957, just past 75 years of age.

Funeral services were held March 3, at the James funeral home. The Rev. C. E. Kingsley officiated. Burial was in Chester cemetery.

Pallbearers were Merle Harris, Harvey Harris, Glen Harris, Harold Tice, Clair Strand, and W. G. Greenwald. Soloist was Mrs. Dolph Miller. Accompanist was Mrs. Willard Heffner.
