EVY JANE MELDREM FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FRIDAY, APR. 13

Evy Jane Sanders Meldrem, daughter of Otto B. and Zadie Tinker Sanders, was born on Aug. 16, 1893 near Malcom and died early Wednesday morning April 11, at her home in Malcom, at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 25 days.

On Mar. 16, 1921 she was married to Clifford N. Meldrem in Grinnell. To this union were born seven children: Zadie (Mrs. Richard Ross) of Brooklyn; Claire, of Huxley; Norma (Mrs. Harold Duffus) of Kellogg; James Duane of Gilbert, Merlene (Mrs. Paul Whisenand) of Kelley, Lyle, who preceded her in death in February, 1962, and Marlyn, who died in infancy in 1933.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Malcom and was active in its organizations. She was an active member of the Poweshiek Rebekah Lodge No. 67, the Order of Eastern Star of Malcom, and a member of the G.A.R. of Montezuma.

She is survived by her husband, her children, 15 grandchildren, two brothers, Ben Sanders, Brooklyn,, and Tom Sanders, Grinnell, a host of nieces and nephews, and manhy many friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Malcom Presbyterian church by Rev. Don Woogle and burial was in Ivy Hill cemetery.
