HAROLD CHUTE, 47, RITES CONDUCTED

The Rev. Harold Samuel Chute, 47, husband of the former Doris Parker of Grinnell, died Friday, Oct. 8, at his home in Greenville, Iowa.

He was born June 1, 1924, in Greenville, the son of Cloyd and Jessie Mather Chute. He lived in Greenville for seven years, after which the family moved to the Spencer area. After being graduated from North English High School in 1942, he attended Kletzing College at University Park. His education was interrupted for 2-1/2 years, during which he served with the U.S. Army. After leaving the service he returned to Kletzing College, later attending Asbury Seminary at Wilmore, Ky.

He was married to Doris Parker July 8, 1953, in Grinnell. The couple had two children.

The Rev. Mr. Chute served as pastor for seven years in churches in Indiana; three years at Richland, Iowa; four years at New Sharon; and returned to Greenville in July of this year, where he was pastor of the Friends Church.

The Rev. Mr. Chute was preceded in death by his father and one brother. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jessie Chute of Kinrose, Iowa; his wife Doris; one son, Paul Wesley; a daughter, Wilma Ruth, both living at home; one brother, Robert Chute of Seattle, Wash.; and three sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Leona) Glans of Kinross, Iowa, Mrs. Harold Dillon of Keswick and Mrs. Joseph (Phyllis) Anselmo of Chicago.

Funeral services were held Oct. 10 at the Friends Church in Greenville, with burial in the Sheridan Cemetery.
