FRANCES J. DUTEMPLE
Frances J. Dutemple, 80, of Grinnell died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A funeral service was held Monday, April 16, at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Len Eberhart, pastor of the church, and Deacon Diane Eberhart, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner. Interment followed in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church.
She was born April 16, 1926, in Albia to Harvey and Gertrude Smith Love. She was raised in Albia, graduating from Albia High School with the class of 1944. Following her education, she was employed by the telephone company in Albia.
She was married on Nov. 25, 1951, to Kenneth Dutemple in Albia. The couple moved to Grinnell in the fall of 1963 and she worked in the food service of the Grinnell School District for over 30 years. She was a member of Grinnell Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for over 20 years, a member of Grinnell United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and an election poll official.
She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, camping, crocheting and baking cookies. She also was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Dutemple of Grinnell; three daughters, Pam Blagden of Grinnell, Penny Morris of Keota and Paula Kellogg of rural Tama; seven grandchildren; two great granddaughters; one sister Mildred Hall of Des Moines and two brothers, Russell Love of Spring Valley, Calif., and James Love of Mesa, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dorothy Flanagan and one brother, Richard Love.
