CHARLEY TUGGLE
(Contributed)Charley Tuggle, son of Hile and Martha Tuggle was born March 22, 1896 near Monticello, Ky., and departed this life April 4, 1958. He attended school in Kentucky. On January 23, 1923, he was united in marriage to Laura Criswell of Mill Springs, Ky. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Mildred Jolley of Grinnell. For the past 15 years he had resided in Grinnell.
He was a devoted husband and father and always thought of helping his family and friends. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist church of Grinnell.
In September, 1957, he had a severe heart attack and was hospitalized for over five weeks. After he came home he was unable to work and spent as much time as possible reading the Bible.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Tuggle, his daughter, Mrs. Mildred Jolley, one granddaughter, Tanya Jolley, all of Grinnell, his mother, Mrs. Martha Tuggle of Monticello, Ky., one sister, Mrs. Knoxie Richardson of Monticello, Ky., three brothers, Brent Tuggle of Grinnell, Ia., Jim and Taylor Tuggle of Monticello, Ky. Those who preceded him in death were his father, Hile Tuggle, one sister, Mrs. Neva Dunnington and three brothers, Virgil, Fred and Ellie.
Funeral services were held at Northside Friends church with Rev. Wendell Cosand officiating. Organ music was furnished by Mrs. L.V. Willison, accompanying Mr. Robert Butler who sang "Where We'll Never Grow Old," and "When the Roll is Called up Yonder."
Pall bearers were Ralph Bailey, Donald Criswell, Sterlie Criswell, Freeman Criswell, Raymond Criswell and Roy Criswell.
Interment was at New Charity cemetery near Monticello, Ky.
