GWENDOLYN L. BUDDING

Gwendolyn L. Budding, 84, of Grinnell, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A service was held Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids with entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her family.

She was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Monument, Kan., the daughter of James and Edythe O'Bannion. Following graduation from high school she attended nurses' training at Henrotten Hospital and Cook County Hospital in Chicago where she earned her RN in nursing.

She was united in marriage with John Budding on Oct. 6, 1951, in Freeport, Ill.

She was a member of P.E.O., Questers and St. Paul's Methodist Women/Abigail Circle.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John William Budding; her sons Lynn Budding of Grinnell and Wayne Budding of Wilton; her daughter Susan Carroll of Marion; her sister, Margaret O'Bannion of Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
