RITES HELD FOR ROBERT MADDIGAN
Funeral services were held at Oelwein Tuesday for Robert M. Maddigan, 52, of Oelwein, a former Brooklyn resident who died Saturday in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a short illness.
Maddigan lived in Brooklyn in the late 1950's. He was employed at the United Food Market here and later was associated with the Colonial Bakery.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus and was active in politics, serving as county coordinator for U.S. Rep. John Culver for six years.
Survivors include his widow, Delores; six sons, Michael, Timothy, Thomas, Terry, Kevin and Kerry, all of Oelwein; five daughters, Koleen and Maureen of Cedar Rapids, Cathleen, Eileen and Mary of Oelwein. He was preceded in death by one son, Patrick.
Services were held in the Sacred Heart church with burial in Woodlawn cemetery, Oelwein.
