Beulah Nott, 85, of Gilman died of heart failure Tuesday, March 3, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Wallace, pastor of the Newburg-Chester United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery near Newburg.
The family will be present at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
She was the daughter of Charles and Amy Campbell Fahrni and was born Oct. 11, 1912, in Enon, Mo. She was raised in Enon and attended rural schools.
On Oct. 27, 1934, she was married to Edgar Nott in Califonia, Mo., and they farmed in Missouri before moving to Gilman in 1940. They farmed in the Gilman and Newburg areas.
Following her husband's death in 1969, she moved to Gilman and worked at Mac's Restaurant. She later worked in the dietary department of the Mayflower in Grinnell, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Newburg-Chester United Church of Christ and was past president of the Gilman Senior Citizens.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald of Marshalltown, Gary of St. Louis, Mo., and Darrel of Ontario. Calif.; four daughters, Anna Cooling of Garwin, Patsy Smith of Grinnell, Virginia McDowell of Ely and Margaret Hurley of Davenport; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Cecil Fahrni of Marshalltown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Doris Kellogg; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnnie and Roy Fahrni; and three sisters, Vinti Schrivner, Lucy Johnston and Dorothy Hobeck.
