FORMER RESIDENT DIES

E.H. Spidell, for a Long Time a Resident Here, Passed Away in California.

Ezra Henry Spidell of Fillmore, California, died Monday afternoon, October 7, aged 87 years, 5 months and 13 days.

The deceased was born in Canton, Ohio, April 24, 1831. A number of years ago he moved to this city, where he lived until moving to California in 1912. He was married in 1871 to Esther M. Butler, who survives him. The deceased is also survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Smith Rist, two brothers, and one sister.

Mr. Spidell was the sexton of Hazelwood cemetery for a number of years and after going to California became the sexton of Bardsdale cemetery, in which place he was laid to rest.
