MARGARET MAIN, 88

Margaret Main, 88, of Lenexa, Kan., passed away peacefully on May 12, 2009. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial followed at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Margaret was born July 3, 1920, in Montezuma, the daughter of Anna Tish. She attended school through the tenth-grade. Growing up, she was a member of West Liberty Church of Christ in West Grove. Margaret was united in marriage to Roland E. Main on Oct. 12, 1940. To this union was born four sons, and three daughters.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, was an honorary Local 101 Retiree, and a member of the Old Time Pickers, Fiddlers, and Singers. She was also a member of the Berea Class of the Merriam Christian Church.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother; by her husband of 60 years; by her son, Garold Main; and her daughter, Donna Mead. She was also preceded in death by four grandsons, Michael Heydman, Josh Uhlig, Jeffrey Davis, and Rolland E. Main II.

She is survived by her sons, Delbert (Lee) Main, Rick (Mary Ellen) Main, and Marvin (Linda) Main; daughters, Judy (Ben) Dobbs; and Roxanna (Ken) Uhlig; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Iona Latcham and Wilma Borlough; and a host of friends and relatives, as well as her extended family at Sunrise Assisted Living.
