ALFRED "FRITZ" DANOVSKI

Alfred was born Aug. 10, 1921, near Victor, to Fred and Agusta Gudzun Danovski. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural schools. During World War II, he served with the United States Navy. Following the war, he returned to the Victor area and worked for various construction companies.

He was a member of the Harold E. Smith American Legion Post #54 and St. James Lutheran Church of Victor.

He is survived by one nephew, Fred Danovski of Cedar Rapids; and three nieces, Dorothy Pilicer of Denver, Colo., Thelma Wittke of San Jose and Joan Danovski of Cedar Rapids.

Alfred died Jan. 25 at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. He was 74 years of age, and preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, Walter and Harry, and an infant sister.

Funeral service was held Jan. 29 at Smith Funeral Home, Victor. Clergyman was Rev. Bruce Schuchard of St. James Lutheran Church, Victor. Music was provided by Jean Fontinel, organist who played "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden."

Casket-bearers were Dean Fontinel, Ed Haugen, Robert Murtha, Herb Newhaus, Everett Refer, Darold "Shorty" Roberts. Interment was at Victor Memorial Cemetery.
