AN OBITUARY OF K.M. KAISAND

Konrad M. Kaisand ws born Aug. 8, 1851 at Fecheheim, Germany and passed away of heart failure at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, January 30, 1930. Mr. Kaisand came to this country in the spring of 1883 and settled near Grinnell where he resided until Oct. 1929 when he went to make his home with his daughter Mrs. D.C. Davis of Cedar Rapids. On Jan. 18, 1887 he was united in marriage with Matilda Fenzlein who preceded him in death in 1920. He is survived by six children: Jacob, Gus and Charles all of Grinnell; Elizabeth and Mrs. D.C. Davis of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. C.R. Rutledge of Sharpesburg, Ia., by two brothers and three sisters. One brother, Jacob Kaisand resides near Tama, one sister Mrs. Lawrence Shaeffer in Baltimore, Md. The remaining brother and two sisters are in Germany.

Mr. Kaisand was reared in the Lutheran faith attending the Lutheran church of Malcom township until ten years ago when he became a member of the First Congregational church of Grinnell.
