MYRON HENEKE

Myron F. Heneke, 76, of 2005 Spring St., Grinnell, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Arvid Dixen officiating. Orgnist was Margaret Amo.

Pallbearers were Robert Anderson, Everett Gerrish, Claire Mithelman, John Ruchotzke, Don Sundell and Jack Templeton. Honorary bearers were Tilford Christianson, Richard Green, Walter Rixen and Paul Schalinske.

Graveside services were conducted later at Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery in Clinton.

The son of John William and Margaret Schraeder Heneke, he was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Charlotte. He was raised in Miles and graduated from Miles High School in 1936. In 1937 he attended and graduated from Hemphill Diesel School.

He was married to Dorothea Jebsen April 16, 1944, in Preston. He was in the seed corn business and later farmed near Camanche. In 1957 the family moved to Grinnell where he purchased the Sureway Seed Corn Co. He owned and operated Heneke Hybrid Seedcorn Co. until his retirement in 1984.

Mr. Heneke was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was past president of the Grinnell Rotary Club.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothea; one daughter, Darla Pearce of Grinnell; one son, the Rev. Dale Heneke of Kelley; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and one sister, Marvel Jackson of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
