MRS. ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY GOLDEN

Elizabeth Montgomery Golden was born in Ireland May 9, 1823, died Nov. 3, 1902 at the home of her son, E.M. Golden, in Grinnell, at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 25 days.

She came to this country with her sister and father at the age of eighteen years, living in New York City a few years, then coming to Providence, Ill., where she was married in 1856 to John F. Golden. In 1865 they came to Grinnell, where they resided for about five years, the moved to their farm in Sugar Creek township, where Mr. Golden died in February, 1880. In 1882 she came with her son to this city, where she has since resided. She joined the M.E. church soon after coming to Grinnell in 1865 and has been a constant member, though her health would not permit her to attend the services for the past few years.

After short services at the house Wednesday her body was taken to Blue Point where the Rev. W.P. Stoddard conducted the funeral services and her remains were interred beside those of her husband.
