AN OBITUARY OF MRS. ED. GOLDEN

Anna Maria Stanley daughter of Michael and Lydia Jane Stanley was born November 14, 1861, near Lynnville, Jasper county, Iowa, and passed away at her home in Grinnell, Sunday morning, December 18, 1927.

Her childhood days as well as her young womanhood were spent in and around Lynnville.

She was a birthright member of the Friends Church at Lynnville. After moving to Grinnell, she attended services as long as her health would permit. At all times and in every way she let a consistent Christian life.

On January 4, 1893 she was united in marriage with Edward M. Golden of Grinnell, who passed away in March 1916. To this union were born three children, Beulah Idelle, Nellie Elizabeth, who died in infancy, and Maybelle Clara. With the exception of two years spent in Princeton, Illinois, the family home has been in this city. Her home life was a beautiful one in every way. She was a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and was never so happy as when sharing her home with others.

She is survived by her two daughters, Beulah of Grinnell, Mrs. Leon C. Carty of Des Moines, two little grandsons, Arthur Edward and James Golden Carty, her three sisters, Mrs. Eliza S. Renaud of Lynnville, Mrs. V.W. Macy of Flemington, Missouri, Miss Ada Bell Stanley of Des Moines and two brothers Clayton V. and Loring A. Stanley both of Des Moines.
