GRINNELL NATIVE DIES IN MONTANA

Funeral services have been held in Libby, Mont. for Ruby Eunice Koebel, 93, a Grinnell native.

Mrs. Koebel died Sept. 22 at the Libby Convalescent Center.

Mrs. Koebel was born May 27, 1878, in Grinnell the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Miles C. Parish. She grew up in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell high school.

In 1902, Mrs. Koebel graduated from Grinnell College. She taught in Iowa until her marriage to George P. Koebel at Grinnell in 1908.

The Koebels moved west in 1912 and Mr. Koebel taught at Grand Junction, Colo., Missoula and Parma, Idaho, before arriving in Libby, Mont., in 1915. Koebel was superintendent of school at Libby for two years before taking up ranching.

Mrs. Koebel is survived by her son Warren and several nieces and nephews including Dr. John Parish and Mrs. Margaret Arnold of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1948 and three brothers and a sister.
