MR. KESTER SERVICES HELD

Maurine G. Kester, 72, of 400 Sixth Ave. died Thursday afternoon at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Kester will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sam Reaves, pastor of the Grinnell Assembly of God Church, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Naomi Reaves. Pallbearers will be Don Anciaux, Lyle Johnson, Harry Miller, Harold Miller, Manly Lillie, and Richard Saunders. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

Should friends desire, memorials in Mr. Kester's name may be left at the Smith Funeral Home.

The son of John and Josephine Loomis Kester, he was born Dec. 19, 1903, at Grinnell. He attended school here. On Aug. 29, 1931, he was married to Mildred Grovenburg in Grinnell. The couple had three children. Mr. and Mrs. Kester had always made their home in Grinnell, and he was employed by the Maytag Co. in Newton for 23 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; his children, Frank Kester of Grinnell, David Kester of Newton, and Mrs. Marvin (Betty) Taylor of Montezuma; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Reedy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Narine TeVeltrup of Sioux Center, Ia.
