FRED COFFEE MEMORIAL SET

Fred S. Coffee, 74, a former resident of the Blue Point neighborhood, died Sunday in Los Angeles, Calif.

Th body was cremated and a memorial service will be held, probably in October, in Kellogg.

He was born Oct. 27, 1910, in Kellogg and attended Kellogg schools, graduating from Newton High School. He was married March 22, 1941, to Mary Evelyn Craven. He was employed at Maytag and worked for the Shell Oil Co. in California before returning to this area. He farmed south of Blue Point from 1942 to 1957 when he returned to California.

He was a member of the Farm Bureau and attended Oak Grove Friends Church.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, Torrance, Calif.; his daughter, Judith Ann Coffee, San Pedro, Calif.; and his sister, Frances Coffee, Newton.

FRED COFFEE MEMORIAL HELD

Fred S. Coffee, 74, of Torrence, Calf., formerly of Kellogg, died Sunday, July 21, at the Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles, Calif.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials in Mr. Coffee's name may be made to the Kellogg Historical Society.

The body was cremated.

The son of Frank S. and Lucy Morgart Coffee, he was born Oct. 17, 1910, in Kellogg. He attended Kellogg schools and was a 1928 graduate of Newton High School.

He was married to Mary Evelyn Craven on March 22, 1941. Mr. Coffee was a Maytag Co. employee for several years and later farmed in the Blue Point neighborhood south of Grinnell. He moved to Torrence in 1957 and was an employee of McDonald-Douglas until his retirement.

Surviviors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Judith Ann Coffee of San Pedro, Calif.; and a sister, Frances Coffee of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
